This lab was created to practice real cybersecurity fundamentals in a controlled environment. The goal is to study Linux, networks, remote access, firewall, logs, event analysis, diagnostic tools, and SOC concepts.

Configuration and understanding of the UFW firewall on Ubuntu. Inbound and outbound rules, port opening, and access control best practices.

Authentication logs

Analysis of SSH authentication logs on Linux. Understanding login events, failures, source IPs, and the importance of logs for SOC.

Port scanning with Nmap

Using Nmap to identify open ports and exposed services on local network machines.
